Project Acuitas in General Project Discussion

I'm going to post updates re: my main project, Acuitas the semantic net AI, in this thread.

My focus this past month was on giving Acuitas the ability to learn more types of inter-word relationships.  He started with just class memberships (<thing> is a <thing>) and qualities (<thing> is a <adjective>), but now he can learn all of the following:

<thing> can do <action>
<thing> is for <action>
<thing> is part of <thing>
<thing> is made of <thing>
<thing> has <thing>

In the process I made extensive updates to the module behind the Text Parser that detects "forms," i.e. syntactic structures that encode these inter-word relationships.

I also upgraded the GUI library from Tkinter to Kivy, which is kind of boring but had to be done, because the old GUI was provoking frequent crashes.

The included diagram shows my vision for the conversation engine.  The upper half is implemented (though of course it still needs to mature a great deal); the lower half mostly does not exist yet.

The New Species (Project Progress) in General Project Discussion

Hi, I’m Korrelan and welcome to my AI-Dreams project page.

Project Goal
I personally believe/ know that we are each a closed box, we run a personal internal simulation of reality which we can only experience through our own senses.  We are not computers but we are bio chemical, electrical machines and as such can be simulated using conventional computer hardware.

My goal/ project has always been about understanding and recreating a neuromorphic simulation of the mammalian brain, and to create an ‘alien’ intelligence based on the same schema.  To build a machine that can learn anything… and then teach it to be human.

Global thought pattern (GTP) theory.
The GTP is the activation pattern that is produced by electro-chemical activity within the brain/ connectome.  When a neuron fires action potentials travel down axons, electro-chemical gates regulate synaptic junctions, dopamine and other compounds are released that regulate the whole system.  Long term memories are stored in the physical structure of the connectome, short term/ working memory is represented by the current GTP pattern of activation within the connectome.

It’s a symbiotic relationship, within the system the GTP defines the connectome, and the connectome guides the GTP.   The GTP is a constantly changing, morphing pattern balanced on the edge of chaos that represents the AGI’s understanding of that moment in time, with all the memories, experiences and knowledge it comprises.

Pattern based NLP in General Project Discussion

This is a project I've been working on for a few years. In 2019 I was testing out the theory on Pandora Bots, and this year I'm converting it to plain C.

The main goal is to be as small as possible, solid-state (no algorithms, learning, knowledge calculation), fast as possible, multi-language.

It converts pattern-matched singular words into a symbolic/tokenised word to be matched again in symbolic sentences. They are then assigned an intention/topic/perspective. The chatbot code uses the Intention/topic/perspective to associate fixed response/s (with randomisation).

Everything from the spell check to the word-to-symbol tokeniser, and the sentence pickups, chatbot responses are all staged pattern matching.

The size and speed in pandora bots (1000 individual words with sentences) is ~500kb, and ~1 second response time. In Plain C (on an Arm Cortex M4 @ 120mhz) it's ~159kb and 15-100 milliseconds. After spell check and tokenisation, all actions are generally less than 1 ms.

Key features
-Less than 500kb including all word databases.
-Millisecond fast.
-100 max fixed chatbot responses make it easy to voice record and/or change personality.
-Private information automatically stripped during word compression (names of places and things).
-Native differentiation of Wondering, Questions, and Directions - "can you speak english" "do you speak english" "speak english".

The intention pickup allows you to write a general chatbot response (non specific) of a few varieties with confidence, and not have to look at the backend.

There is some short term memory for handling puzzles "If I did this, then what is this?" but as there's no knowledge reflection, it can still 1) tell it's a question, 2) scan for the topic, and 3) count logical words as opposed to emotional words. And be relevant that way.

So this solves the problem of chatbots in games due to:
-Too much data or processing power required.
-Cannot change the personality/no personality.
-Cannot change the language/only one language.
-Cannot acknowledge the user/escapes the topic.
-Wrong views or bad knowledge calculation.
-Cannot record audio/terrible voice synthesis.
-Not being white box/solid state/predictable.

I have been studying humor formulas online. had some rough drafts for algs

I was really making some progress, but I couldn't really see any evolutionary justification for it. so I asked around, what is
the evolutionary reasoning for humor ? to recognize and generate humor. one guys answer was :

Originally it was about showing you are submissive and not dangerous by being a clown.

Good humor is about making fun if someone (such as yourself) you laughing as someone is failing, being dominated/humiliated.

so I decided I don't want my waifubot to be funny. tbh ngl

New model beats GPT3 in AI News

When a system using 99.9% less model parameters is able to best the best at a benchmark task, it’s a pretty big deal. This isn’t to say that the LMU system is better than GPT-3, nor that it’s capable of beating it in tests other than the SuperGLUE benchmark – which isn’t indicative of GPT-3’s overall capabilities.

This is on only one of the benchmarks so far, but it's a general purpose algorithm and you would expect that three orders of magnitude greater efficiency will lead to massive gains across the board. The secret sauce is something called PET (pattern exploiting training). GPT3 and its ilk are not AGI or even AI, but for sure they an important component along with everything else that has been developed in past years.

List of MMO Games for 2020 in General Chat

Here's an interesting list of the great massive-multiplayer-online games that are available this year. There aren't any really new ones but on the other hand, great games like World of Warcraft, Runescape, and Eve Online that have been around for decades continue to enjoy upgrades and improvements to make them as fresh and playable as ever. Over the years I've enjoyed Runescape and World of Warcraft and I know we have a few bigs fans of Lord of the Rings Online on the forum. Does anyone have experience with any of the other games listed?

Although it didn't make this list, I believe the all-time best MMO to be Travian. Each game of Travian has thousands of players, lasts for a year, and there may be dozens or hundreds of games in progress concurrently. What sets it apart from the other games is that it takes place in real-time and it never stops. Travian is so absorbing and addictive that it can consume your life if you let it, but no other game is quite as exciting or intense.

I will show you how to apply Machine Learning algorithms on data from the PostgreSQL database to get insights and predictions. I will use an Automated Machine Learning (AutoML) supervised. It is an open-source python package. Thanks to AutoML I will get quick access to many ML algorithms: Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Xgboost, Neural Network. The AutoML will handle feature engineering as well. I will show you python code snippets that can be reused to integrate Machine Learning with PostgreSQL as a part of the ETL pipeline.

Singularity in Robots in Movies

Singularity is a Swiss/American science fiction film. It was written and directed by Robert Kouba, and its first shoot, in 2013, starred Julian Schaffner, Jeannine Wacker and Carmen Argenziano. The film was first released in 2017, after further scenes with John Cusack were added.

In 2020, robotics company C.E.O. Elias VanDorne reveals Kronos, the supercomputer he has invented to end all war. Kronos decides that mankind is responsible for all war, and it tries to use robots to kill all humans. VanDorne and Damien Walsh, a colleague, upload themselves into Kronos and watch the destruction. Ninety-seven years later, Andrew, a kind-hearted young man, wakes up in a ruined world. VanDorne and Walsh, still in Kronos, watch Andrew meet Calia, a teenage girl who seeks the last human settlement, the Aurora. Though Calia is first reluctant to let Andrew accompany her, the two later fall in love.
